Vale for Android

Vale for Android is a companion to the desktop app. It signs in to the same Vale account, shows the providers you connected on your computer, refreshes them on a schedule of its own, and alerts you through Android notifications. Providers and billing are managed on desktop; the phone is for watching and being told.

Requirements and access

  • Android 11 or newer. Current version: 1.5.
  • A Vale account — the same email you use on desktop. There is no separate mobile account.
  • Install it from Google Play.
  • Free and Power follow your account. Free includes up to 5 active accounts; Power is bought and managed on desktop.

  1. Enter your email. Vale sends a 6-digit code — the same kind of email the desktop app uses.
  2. Type the code into the six boxes, or use the paste button when a code is on the clipboard. Email and code autofill are supported.
  3. A wrong code starts you over cleanly. Log out from Settings when you want to switch accounts; you will need a new code to sign back in.

Providers come from desktop

Every provider you connect in Vale for desktop appears on the phone automatically, because provider connections sync with your account. The phone fetches usage itself using those connections, so readings are live, not mirrored from your computer.

  • To add, edit, or remove a provider: open Vale on your computer, sign in with the same email, and use Settings → Providers. Then pull down on the phone dashboard.
  • On the phone you can rename an account (Settings → Providers, or press and hold its card).
  • Expired Kimi and Antigravity tokens renew on the phone itself. Other expired sessions show an “Authentication expired” state until you reauthenticate on desktop.
  • Removing an account on desktop removes its alerts and activity on the phone too.

Dashboard

  • Cards — each account shows its limits with progress, reset timers (“Resets in 38m”), credits that lapse (“Expires in”), and plan metadata. Press and hold a card to rename or pin it.
  • Sort — Urgency, Lowest quota, Nearest reset, Provider name, Last updated, or Date added. Nearest-reset order re-sorts every minute.
  • Filter — All, Expired, Low quota, or Healthy. “Low” uses the threshold from Settings → Notifications.
  • Alert banner — accounts that need attention, or “All clear”. Tap to expand.
  • Pull to refresh — fetches every account now. The app also refreshes on its own when it comes back to the foreground and the data is older than your period.

Usage and Activity

  • Usage — how much of each limit you used today, this week, this month, or this year, or in an earlier period. Tap an account for each of its limits and a day-by-day grid. See Usage for how totals are counted.
  • Activity — a timeline of alerts and account events with an unread badge, filter chips (Low quota, Low credits, Limit reset, Connection), Mark all read, swipe left to delete, and Clear all activity. Tap an event to open its account.
  • History and activity are stored per account in a local database on the phone. Signing in as a different account never shows the previous account’s alerts or activity.

Background monitoring and notifications

With Auto-refresh set to anything other than Manual, Vale keeps checking your providers on that period even when the app is closed, and posts Android notifications using the same alert rules as desktop.

  • Permission — Vale asks for notification permission on first launch. Settings → Notifications shows “Push notifications · Allowed” or “Off”.
  • Alerts — low quota and credits (below your threshold, escalating when a limit hits zero), limit resets when a window actually refills, and connection problems such as expired sessions or failed refreshes. Each alert fires once, not on every refresh, and clears when the quota recovers or the account is removed. Tap one to open the account.
  • Monitoring notice — a silent ongoing notification (“Monitoring 3 accounts · Checks every 5 min · Updated 14:02”) while the background service runs. Its Stop action sets refresh to Manual. Monitoring restarts after a reboot or app update.
  • While the phone is idle — Android limits background wake-ups to roughly every 9 minutes with the screen off, and less often the longer it stays idle. Checks run on time while the phone is in use and catch up as soon as you pick it up.

The weekly email digest remains a desktop Power option; it is not sent from the phone.

Settings

  • General — Theme (System, Light, Dark, or AMOLED black), accent color, provider glow, Auto-refresh (Manual, 1, 5, 10, 30 minutes, or 1 hour), and haptic feedback.
  • Account — display name and log out. Sign-in is by email code on this device.
  • Providers — rename accounts. Adding, editing, and removing happen on desktop.
  • History — keep history for 30 days, 90 days, 1 year, or unlimited; clear local history. History is stored on the phone and never uploaded; clearing it does not touch your desktop history.
  • Notifications — permission row, toggles for low quota and credits, limit resets, and connection problems, plus the low-quota threshold that also decides what counts as Low on the dashboard. The phone has no separate credit floor.
  • Billing — membership card, current cycle, plan details, and the 12 newest invoices. Upgrading, updating a payment method, and cancelling are done in Settings → Billing on desktop; a past-due membership shows a payment-needed notice here.
  • About — version, website link, and the desktop platforms (macOS, Windows, Linux).

Not on the phone

  • Adding or connecting providers, the Credential Connector extension, and Reauthenticate flows other than Kimi and Antigravity token renewal.
  • Starting a trial, checkout, changing payment method, or cancelling.
  • Weekly email digest, home screen widgets, and an iOS version.
